Do You Need a COVID Booster?
Protect Yourself and Your Community with a Boost
What is a COVID Booster Dose?
Booster doses do just that — they boost our immune system. The protection that some vaccines provide against diseases can decrease over time, so we need to get a booster dose to keep us from getting sick. A COVID booster further enhances your protection against COVID-19.
Who Should Get a COVID Booster?
Just about everyone! In order to be up to date on your COVID vaccinations, all patients 5 years of age and older will need to get at least one booster dose, given at least 5 months after the completion of their primary series.
Patients who are 50 years of age and older should get 2 booster doses to be considered up to date on their COVID vaccinations. The first booster should be given at least 5 months after the completion of their primary series, and the second booster should be administered at least 4 months after the first booster.
Please keep in mind that this information is always changing. Check our website for a link to the CDC Booster Tool to see if you need a booster dose and when you are eligible.
